Two purchases and one disposal for Amoretti
The Emilian company purchased two MR1 tankers for some 40 million dollars
In 2019 Amoretti Armatori made significant investments to renew its fleet.
According to market sources, the two MR1 tankers – renamed Alice and Ami and recently sold to the Swedish company Rederi Ab Gotland – were purchased by the shipping company headed by sisters Mariella and Rina Amoretti for some 40 million dollars. Built in China (by the CSSC Offshore and Marine Engineering shipyard) and delivered in 2012 and 2013 respectively, the two sister ships have a 39,300 gross tonnage capacity. Being 5 and 6 years old, they meet the Group’s requirements since, following the new double order placed in China in March related to ships with a capacity of 4,500 tons and amounting to 34 million dollars, Amoretti Armatori is completing the renewal of its fleet.
However, the renewal of the company’s fleet implied also several transfers. In fact, in July the group sold the unit Rina Amoretti to the Estonian shipping company NT Marine for 4 million euro. The ship had been built in 1997 and it had always been chartered to the same oil major in Northern European seas.
