The Turkish-Danish partnership starts again

Arkas and Sealand (Maersk) to restart their seasonal reefer service Russia Express

Arkas & Sealand Europe & Med (a Maersk Group company) are restarting the seasonal Russia Express Service (REX) by the first week of November from Ashdod.

This new joint reefer service addresses customers who are mainly shipping perishable cargo and want to leverage the reliable and fast transport service by sea. With a lead time of 4 days port-to-port between Mersin and Novorossiysk, and 6 days port-to-port between Ashdod and Novorossiysk, REX connects Turkish and Israeli perishable products with Russian market on weekly basis.

The weekly rotation will be Ashdod - Mersin – Novorossiysk – Ashdod, and the service will be started with the sailing of Arkas Line’s owned Emma A. from Ashdod on Novemberthe 1st 2018.

The two carriers’ VSA will be maintained with Arkas Line operating 1 out of 2 vessels with average 600 plug capacity. Cosco Line will be participating under a slot agreement from Mersin.

Overall, Arkas Line now has a fleet of 54 ships for 1,325,777 dwt capable of transporting 97,363 TEUs; the container fleet consists of 46 units of which 37 are owned for a total capacity of 76,003 TEUs and 16,756 reefer plugs TEUs.
