Ro-ro Liberty Peace called for the first time in Leghorn
United States based Liberty Global Logistics, whose Agent for Italy is Cosulich group, included Tuscany in their US-Middle East service
After the Liberty Passion, operated by United States based Liberty Global Logistics, had called at Leghorn on her maiden voyage (on March 25th), last December 28th sister unit Liberty Peace also landed in Tuscany.
The ro-ro ship, 199 metres in length, 32 in breadth, with a ramp reaching 150 tons capacity and flying the American flag, was built in South Korea at Hyundai shipyard.
The Liberty Peace is fourth ro-ro unit to join the fleet of Liberty Global Logistics, an American company whose Agent for Italy is Genoa-based Fratelli Cosulich.
Besides these ships, specialized in rolling cargo (the other two are the Liberty Pride, built in 2009, and the Liberty Promise, built in 2010, both at South Korea-based Daewoo) the company's fleet also encompasses bulk carrier Liberty Eagle, manufactured in Japan at Oshima shipyard in 2004.
The Liberty Peace will call at CILP terminal of Leghorn and operations will be managed by local shipagent Argosy.
Cosulich group's statement reported that the four ships will regularly call at Leghorn within the USA - Red Sea - Middle East route, subsequently heading for Japan and Korea before returning to the USA within Liberty Global Logistics' Around the World service.
