Medi Valencia to leave d’Amico Dry’s fleet
This Supramax bulk carrier has been sold to SR Shipping of Bangladesh
Italy-controlled d’Amico Dry is losing one of its supramax bulk carriers in fleet as the Irish shipping company has just sold the 2008-built Medi Valencia.
A comment about the reason behind the deal was sent to Ship2Shore directly from the headquarter of the group in Rome: “We can confirm the sale of the m/v Medi Valencia (56,000 dwt) but we cannot disclose the name of the buyer and the price due to confidentiality clause. The sale of this vessel from d’Amico Dry keep is part of the company’s strategy to renovate its fleet”.
According to some brokers sources, following a first attempt of sale which finally failed, the buyer of the Medi Valencia is SR Shipping Ltd of Bangladesh which already control a fleet of 5 supramax and 6 handymax bulkers. The sale price should be $12.3m.
