Marwave Shipmanagement lost its last bulk carrier
The ship Talia was sold to W Marine Inc. of Greece for $17.2 million
Athens-based W Marine Inc. is reported on the market as the buyer of the modern (2011-built) Post-Panamax bulk carrier Talia.
Silvia Zacchello, head of the Dutch company Marwave Shipmanagement, confirmed that “the vessel, commercially operated by Marwave and technically by Ishima, has been sold to Greek buyers for the price of $17.2 million. The market upturn in dry bulk made possible for the owner to obtain an interesting sale price”.
Zacchello concluded underlining that “Marwave Shipmanagement BV is being progressively focused in managing liquid bulk tankers, a business segment which is expected to improve in the future”.
W Marine Inc. is a Greek ship management company founded in 2003 by Yiannis Sarantitis which controls a fleet of 8 bulkers (3 panamax and 5 post-panamax); the one just purchased will be the ninth.
