Agreement of Maritime Transport between the Republic of Panama and the People’s Republic of China

== COMPANY NEWS ==

Tariffs charged for tonnage rights of ships in the ports of the People's Republic of China ('Most Favored Nation?)

The concept of "most favored nation", in terms of seaport, focuses on the payment of port taxes made by ships arriving at certain ports, making the difference between "preferential rates" and "general tariffs". So, if a country is considered a "most favored nation" by virtue of the signing of an international agreement, then ships registered in that country will enjoy the privilege of paying port charges lower than those paid by countries that do not show the quality of " most favored nation "(Preferential rate), which is obliged to pay the so-called "General rate".

Currently, the tariffs applied by net tonnage to ships entering China's ports are regulated in their legislation pursuant to Decree 610 (Temporary Regulation on the taxation of ships), promulgated by the Council of State on November 23, 2011, which are divided according to the following parameters:

Out of ten ports for the world's largest container traffic, seven are located in the People's Republic of China: Shanghai, Shenzhen, Ningbo-Zhoushan, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Tianjin, Ningbo and Dalian.

Bulk cargo ships, container ships, liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied petroleum gas oil tankers, ro-ro cargo and tugboats are the types of Panamanian flag ships that mostly arrive in China's ports.

The total number of arrivals of vessels flying the Panamanian flag in the Chinese ports in the period 2017 amounts to more than 400,000, according to the authoritative source of the system of identification and localization of long-haul ships (LRIT).
