Iscotrans sent two maxi reels to Rotterdam

The Genoese freight forwarding company carried out a complex operation in the port of Trieste towards the Dutch port

Genoese freight forwarding company Iscotrans – established in 1976 and specialized in shipments of industrial plants and machineries, also to developing countries – carried out a complex operation related to two maxi reels weighting 520 and 460 tons respectively.

The two reels were loaded on July the 17th in the port of Trieste on a vessel with boom of the specialized company BigLift, with the support of a Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT), to be delivered in Rotterdam.

Lifting operations for the 520 tons reel lasted for about 2 hours. As the company explained in a note, the operation required "special care and professionalism during the transport designing and implementation stages in order to calculate the forces during lifting operations and during the sea voyage, and to carry out welding operations in the hold and suitable lashing operations to safeguard the cargo".

Headquartered in Genoa, Iscostrans boasts also its own offices in Milan, Rome and Algiers.

In 2018, it carried out 5,000 shipments, for a total of 225,000 tons of goods and some 11,000 TEUs, recording a 31 million euro turnover thanks to its 35 employees.

In 2007, it joined the Tandem Global Logistics network, together with other 13 freight forwarders, covering 60 countries with the support of 117 offices.
