Grimaldi to take full control of New TTT Lines
Seafarers’ unions are calling for more information on the deal which would increase market consolidation on the routes between Campania and Sicily
Naples-based Grimaldi Group is expected to take full control of ro-ro shipping company New TTT Lines, according to some workers unions in Italy which are calling for more detailed information about their future.
New TTT Lines, today 50-50 owned by Grimaldi and Caronte & Tourist, is active with 2 long time chartered ro-pax ships on the motorway of the seas connecting daily the port of Naples with Catania.
The company, formally founded in 2015 by Caronte & Tourist and Tomasos Group, takes origin from the former TTT Lines launched by the Tomasos Transport & Tourism some 15 years before.
Controlling 100% of this ro-ro shipping company active on the coastal routes in Southern Italy would represent for Grimaldi a further increase of its market share on the ferry and ro-ro industry in the Mediterranean basin.
