BPER will help Grimaldi to buy ro-pax Cruise Ausonia
The Bank will partially finance the purchase of ex Superfast XII by allocating 40 million Euro
BPER has recently granted 40 million Euro to Grimaldi Euromed Spa, controlled by Grimaldi Group, to partially finance the purchase of ro-pax Cruise Ausonia, currently operating the Civitavecchia – Olbia line, previously encompassed in Greece-based Superfast Ferries' fleet as Superfast XII.
The ferry, built at Flender Werft yard in Germany in 2002 with 2,400 linear metres capacity, capable to board 1,800 passengers and worth 74.5 million Euro, was included in the agreement sealed by Grimaldi and Attica to settle Hellenic Seaways affair.
The funding, reports BPER, was essentially subscribed by BPER Bank, as agent and coordinator, in pool with Banco di Sardegna.
“We are absolutely proud for having played a key role in the purchase of this ship supporting a leading group as Grimaldi is”, commented Pierpio Cerfogli, Vice-General Director and Chief Business Officer at BPER Bank.
Diego Pacella, Managing Director and CFO of Naples-based group, also recalled how this investment is listed within over one billion Euro investment plan aimed at strengthening the fleet by deploying increasingly innovative and eco-friendly units. The manager also thanked BPER Bank and Banco di Sardegna “for the attention and professional skills provided throughout preliminary assessment and final allocation”.
