Arkas and Seago mix together four Med loops and upgrade Russia’s trade
The Spain Morocco Service provided by the Turkish liner company turco will combine with the Ligurian Sea Service offered from the Maersk subsidiary
Arkas and Seago are going to sign two new Vessel Sharing Agreements to be implemented in mid-January 2018. The VSA partners’ current 4 services will be merged into 2 jointly operated ones.
Arkas Line’s Spain EastMed Service (SEM) will be merging with Seago’s Mediterranean Sea Service, with a total deployment of four 2500 TEU vessels.
The new weekly rotation will be: Tangier – Algeciras – Valencia – Castellon (exclusive Arkas Line call) – Barcelona – Alexandria – Beirut – Mersin – Iskenderun – Lattakia – Izmir (Aliağa) – Tangier.
The Spain Morocco Service (SMS) of Arkas will be merging with Seago’s Ligurian Sea Service, with a total deployment of four 2,500 TEU vessels.
The new weekly rotation will be: Haifa – Genoa – Fos Sur Mer – Barcelona – Valencia – Algeciras (exclusive Seago Line call) – Tangier – Casablanca – Algeciras – Genoa – Alexandria – Haifa.
Additionally, the current Aegean Spain Service (ASA) & Marmara Sea Service VSA of Arkas & Seago will be replacing the call at Thessaloniki with a call at Piraeus in order to improve schedule reliability. Thessaloniki will be served by the new Turkey Greece Service (TGS) which will be operated by EMES Feedering, with a rotation of Piraeus – Thessaloniki – Istanbul – Piraeus.
In a separate move, Arkas & Seago announced the upgrade rotation of Russia Express Service (REX).
In order to better meet the trade’s requirements the REX rotation will change to cover the Israel and Egypt markets into the Blacksea. The two carriers’ VSA will be maintained with Arkas Line operating 1 out of 2 vessels; average 600 plug capacity of the service will remain.
The new weekly rotation will be: Ashdod – Alexandria – Novorossiysk – Ashdod.
REX will offer competitive transit times with only 4 days from Alexandria and 6 days from Ashdod. The new scheme’s first sailing will be from Ashdod on January 4th 2018.
Arkas Line will keep covering the Mersin – Novorrossiysk trade with its weekly MRS.
