A new Turkish tug for Rimorchiatori Laziali
Adding the Sea Rock, to be delivered by Bogazici by the end of this month, Civitavecchia-based company will complete their investment plan
In late May Cafimar group will complete their investment plan in Rimorchiatori Laziali's fleet, subsidiary company operating towage service in Civitavecchia, which will be delivered from Bogazici Turkey-based yard the Sea Rock, ASD propelled tug, with 30 metres LOA and 70 tons bollard pull.
The unit is similar to the Marcandrea (ASD tug with 32.5 metres in length and 70 tons bollard pull),
designed by Cintranaval Shipdesign and delivered sister company Somat by the same yard in 2016.
The Sea Rock was actually designed by Robert Allan (RAstar 3000 model).
The Marcandrea is primarily engaged in Trapani (while Somat also operates in Palermo, Termini Imerese, Marsala and recently Porto Empedocle), nevertheless she was recently supporting Saipen in the Adriatic Saipem for the construction of TAP.
As confirmed by Alessandro Russo, Managing Director of the group, this is the last step in their investment plan which also encompassed the delivery of tugboat Laziale (last May) and Sansone (two months ago), also manufactured by Sanmar in Turkey.
Once again the name was chosen through mid-school competition, won by student Simon Nicolaci.
Cafimar currently targets developing port services through subsidiary Port Utilities, which recently also installed recharge points for electric vehicles in port area and will develop further initiatives.
