Bought at a cost of 11.5 million euro, the vessel was built at Damen shipyard in Singapore. Fast unit Jelena was christened in Rijeka at the presence of several local and national authorities and will be used to connect islands in the central Dalmatian region with the mainland.
With a top speed of 40 knots and capable of 402 passengers the catamaran has two lounge areas and a café bar on board; the fast ferry is 42.20 m in length, 11.60 m wide.
All of Jadrolinija’s fast ferries carry female names and the company has continued this tradition “This top-quality, high-capacity ferry will enable Jadrolinija to improve on high-speed lines, but also will be a good answer to ever-increasing market demands where fast connections are sought after” Jadrolinija CEO David Sopta stated.
