Three more ship-to-shore built by ZPMC delivered in Vado
The quay crane fleet of APM’s and COSCO’s terminal, to be opened in December, was completed
Following the first unit delivered in December 2018 and after 2 months of sailing, 3 ship-to-shore (STS) units built by ZPMC reached Vado Ligure, Savona to complete the quay crane fleet of APM Terminals’ subsidiary and COSCO’s and Qingdao Port’s affiliate terminal, which will open on December the 12th 2019.
Having sailed from Shanghai on April the 20th, the 3 STS will be unloaded in Vado and, considering their size, operations will take two or three weeks, followed by several months testing.
The three STS have the same technical characteristics of the one already delivered in December 2018: 90 meters height, 1,800 tons weight and with an outreach enabling them to handle up to 23 rows of containers horizontally. They boast a 65 tons capacity in twin lift mode, and 100 under hook.
The size of these cranes, combined with the terminal water depth and with quays 4.5 meters above sea levels, will allow to receive latest generation ships (ULCS – Ultra large container ships) in Vado Ligure.
