Rimorchiatori Riuniti strengthens its Norwegian fleet
Santantonio Primo tugboat, already renamed Stadt Kinn, will be deployed in May in Florø port, on behalf of subsidiary Stadt
Genoa-based Rimorchiatori Riuniti determined developing their business in Norway, currently controlled by subsidiary group Stadt, which they inherited from Gesmar, operating port towage services in Florø port.
As from next May tugboat Santantonio Primo (built in Germany in 2008, 71 tons bollard pull), already owned by RR, will start operating in Scandinavia joining Stadt fleet as Stadt Kinn.
“This tugboat – told Ship2Shore Giacomo Gavarone, commercial manager at Rimorchiatori Riuniti, – wasn't engaged in port operation, she actually operates on the spot market and was recently deployed in West Africa”.
“We confide Stadt, of which we control 90% shares, is an excellent group we intend investing on”, the company was taken over by Rimorchiatori Riuniti in 2012 when the Gavarone and Dellepiane families took over Ravenna-based company in two different steps (buying in 2014 50% shares in Setramar and in in 2018 the left 50% from the Vitiello family).
Operating in Florø port – on the North-Eastern coast of Norway, not far from Bergen – Stadt currently deploy three tug boats: the Sløvåg, Fastnet Nore and Stadt Årdal, to be shortly supported by the Stadt Kinn.
