The Turkish entrepreneur just welcomed Taranto Port president Sergio Prete in Istanbul and held a meeting with Minister Tria
"On July the 30th we will sign the 49 years concession agreement related to the Taranto container terminal”, Yildirim Group Chairman and managing director Robert Yuksel Yildirim confirmed through his Twitter profile. He also posted several pictures taken with Puglia port authority president Sergio Prete to celebrate the final rejection of the appeals submitted by the Consortium Southgate Europe Terminal on the Regional Administrative Court's part and the upcoming granting on the new concession.
On July the 24th, Yildirim declared that Prete and Ionian Sea Port Authority secretary general Fulvio Lino Di Blasio visited his headquarters in Istanbul for an "excellent meeting". The Turkish investor's goal is handling 4 million TEUs in the Puglia terminal.
On the day before, the Turkish tycoon, together with the port authority top management and with the Italian ambassador in Turkey, met the Italian Ministry of economy and finance Giovanni Tria, who was on an economic mission aiming at "strenghtening bilateral economic-financial cooperation by exploiting possible available area". Besides Yildirim, the Italian minister met also several representatives of Turkish entrepreneurs including Koc, Sisecam, Eren and Permak, who are interested in investing in Italy.
