Cosco loaded the first two containers heading to the Chinese exhibition CIIE

A short ceremony was held at PSA Genova Prà terminal to celebrate the first loading of Made in Italy goods to be displayed at the exhibition scheduled for November in Shanghai

Genoa – The first two (reefer) containers sailing from Italy towards China for the second edition of the China International Import Expo CIIE scheduled for November in Shanghai were recently loaded in the PSA Genova Pra terminal. The containers transport different products at controlled temperature, including also cosmetic products and food supplements of the Italian company Pharsmart, which in China will be displayed among the Made in Italy goods to be sold and exported in the Far East.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held from November the 5th to the 10th at the National Exhibition and Convention Center of Shanghai. This exhibition is organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and by the Government of the municipality of Shanghai in order to boost consumption of foreign products in China. In this edition, Italy will also be the guest of honour. In the People’s Republic, this event is defined as “a project in line with the accessibility of international products in the Chinese market”, and as a means “to increase the interconnectivity represented by the Belt and Road Initiative”.

In fact, the Expo will welcome 100 countries and some 150,000 national and international buyers.

The main industries involved are divided into products and services. Products will include electronics, smart accessories, consumer goods, food, health and transports. Services will focus on tourism, creative design, culture and teaching, technology and outsourcing.

The ceremony celebrating the boarding of the first two containers shipped thanks to the freight forwarding company Express and the maritime carrier Cosco Shipping was attended by Port Authority president Paolo Emilio Signorini, Fratelli Cosulich managing director Augusto Cosulich, Cosco top management in Italy and Europe, including Marco Donati, Hua Hu and Songwen Wang, and the representatives of the PSA Genova Pra terminal, including Piero Fabiano.
