Zalando plans launching a new logistic platform in Northern Italy
The German most-visited fashion marketplace announced the development of a new distribution hub to support Stradella-based site
E-commerce continues fostering logistics and consequently commercial real estate market: German online marketplace operator selling shoes, clothing and fashion accessories, announced the launching of two new distribution hubs in Poland and Italy.
The new Italian logistic site will support Stradella-based (Pavia) hub, operating since 2016, to serve France, Switzerland and Austria markets.
Kick-off for the construction of a new storage facility is scheduled within six-eight months in an undisclosed location in Northern Italy.
The new structure will be similar to Lahr, Erfurt and Mönchengladbach in Germany and will spread on 130,000 square metres.
The facility should create 1,000 jobs, besides overall 700 workers already hired in Stradella.
Zalando confirmed the development of a new logistic hub in Northern Italy in its last quarterly report which showed 2.080 billion Euro revenues (+21.5% versus 2016) and 102.1 million adjusted Ebit in 1Q 2017, while envisaging 20-25% growth in sales and 5-6% in Ebit.
