TX Logistik beheaded abruptly
CEO Mirko Pahl leaves the German rail logistics company for personal reasons
Mirko Pahl, CEO of TX Logistik AG, will leave the German rail logistics company on 31 July 2019 for personal reasons; his successor will be announced within the next days.
The proven railway expert switched to TX Logistik in March 2017 – just after the company’s take-over from Italy - and initiated the rail operator’s development in a difficult economic environment.
In addition to organisational and personnel restructuring, he focused above all on the procurement of the company's own modern multi-system locomotives, the recovery of licenses in Sweden and Denmark, and the resumption of transport operations in the Swiss corridor.
In order to make the company future-proof, massive investments were made in automation and digitisation; the structural development of the transport portfolio he initiated is being implemented.
TX Logistik was founded in 1999 as a private rail transport company and maintains an efficient European network with connections in 11 countries.
The German company has subsidiaries in Switzerland, Austria, Denmark and Sweden as well as local offices in Italy and the Netherlands. In its Intermodal and Rail Freight divisions, TX Logistik develops comprehensive rail solutions for continental and maritime traffic as well as tailor-made concepts for conventional freight. With around 580 employees and 9.1 tonne kilometres travelled, the company generated annual sales of 250 million euros in 2018.
Since January 2017, TX Logistik has been wholly owned by Mercitalia Logistics SpA, a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.
