he Veneto company will supply a conveyor belts system to the OCP group, which is planning to increase maritime exports of fertilizers from the port of Jorf Lasfar
Moroccan group OCP (Office Chérifien des Phosphates) – among the world’s leaders in the production of phosphates and fertilizers, boasting a turnover of over 5 billion euro – decided to increase the export capacity by sea of its products by relying on the Italian group Bedeschi.
In fact, the Padua-based company, specialized in the supply of logistics systems to handle bulk goods, entered into an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Commissioning) agreement related to the development of the plant managed by OPC in the Moroccan coastal town Jorf Lasfar (17 Km west of El Jadida).
Bedeschi specified that the order concerns a 2,000 tons/hour, 5 Km long conveyor belt which will connect the Moroccan corporation’s production site to the quays of the port of Jorf Lasfar, where fertilizers and phosphates will be loaded to be transported by sea.
The Veneto company will take care of the designing, engineering, assembling and commissioning of the system, integrating it into the existing handling system at the plant.
