Full marks in respect for the environment for Rutilli Adolfo
Mantua-based road haulage company specialised in transport of hung garments received 10 IVECO Stralis NP 460 vehicles, thus starting the conversion of its fleet to natural gas
10 LNG fuelled IVECO Stralis NP 4060 were delivered from local distributor Autobrennero in Verona to Mantua-based (Castellucchio) Autotrasporti Rutilli Adolfo Srl.
The means (6 3-axles and 4 2-axles tractors) feature dual fuel tanks with a capacity of 410 and 540 litres respectively.
The buyer had signed the purchase agreement in 2018 aiming at progressively converting its fleet to natural gas. As a matter of fact, Rutilli started its energy transition with its first significant order amounting to almost 10% of the company’s entire fleet.
Being specialized in transporting garments for the main Italian and foreign fashion houses, and being also the logistics partner of many of them, the Mantua-based company created a special Fashion division and opted for IVECO LNG vehicles in order to avoid restrictions or obligations related to the international routes covered regularly by its vehicles, including several Île-de-France areas and the metropolitan area of Paris, which are subject to significant traffic restrictions and limitations.
“The customer chose us for our long and pioneering experience in alternative tractions and for the characteristics of our vehicles, which fully comply with their needs”, IVECO explained in a note. “Rutilli Adolfo will be able to provide eco-friendly transports, thus avoiding stops or traffic restrictions, which are extremely detrimental for its corporate business, and ensuring high performances at a very competitive Total Operating Cost. In fact, LNG fuelled Stralis NP 460 feature a technology designed to ensure a significant reduction both in consumption and in pollution: 90% NO2 less, 99% PM less and, if biomethane is used, 95% CO2 less compared to their equivalent diesel versions”.
IVECO also added that Stralis NP 460 vehicles are not only ideal for long distances, having an autonomy up to 1,600 Km – in their duel fuel 540 litres tank version – but they are also favoured in Europe as they are exempt from payment of tolls in Germany, or from the prohibition of transit in strategic border areas such as the Brenner Pass, and from the traffic bans for highly polluting units in several Italian regions such as Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto.
Established in 1940 by Guido Rutilli, in the Sixties the Castelluccio-based enterprise became a Limited Liability Company, in the Eighties it started focusing on international transport and logistics, and it currently boasts several branches abroad: Rutilli Adolfo Kft in Budapest (Hungary), St Correia et Rutilli Moda Transport sarl in Casablanca (Morocco), SC Rutilli Adolfo Iasi in Oradea (Romania), Correia e Rutilli Moda Transportes Lda in Porto (Portugal), Rutilli Transport Y Logistica in Barcelona (Spain), Rutilli Trasporti e Logistica Polska in Warsaw (Poland) and RTL Europe Delivery Cz Sro in Brno (Czech Republic).
