From Sincrolog to Cambiaso Risso: a dozen logistic players taken over by French groups in 10 years
Among the biggest M&A operations GIP, Mercurio, Marconi and Bertola are definitely standing out
Latest public offer submitted by Archimed equity fund to take over Bomi Italia recalls various Italian transport and logistic operators taken over by French groups.

Two years ago Infravia investment fund took over, in partnership with British Infracapital, 95% in Gruppo Investimenti Portuali, Genoa-based company controlling Genoa, Leghorn and Marghera containers terminal.
Infravia also acquired (from Eni) Petrolig, which controls coastal facilities in Genoa and Savona – Vado.
A year ago Stef-Tfe, French operator specialized in handling operations and temperature controlled distribution, took over Gruppo Marconi which had already purchased in 2011 100% shares in Dispensa Logistics through another Italian subsidiary (Cavalieri Trasporti).
Still regarding the French shopping, in late 2016 Unigrains acquired in partnership with Atlante Private Equity, managed by Imi Fondi Chiusi Sgr, 68% in Trasporti Romagna, Vicenza-based company operating in road transport and logistics in North-East Italy.
Back in years Geodis (logistic operator controlled by French railway company Sncf) took over Mercurio (in 2011), Ribi (2010), Bertola Servizi Logistici (2010) and Sincrolog (2009).
In 2013 Norbert Dentressangle took over Fiege Borruso and Fratelli Spa (Pharma).
