Aponte goes shopping into Asia-trading freight forwarders
MSC is willing to buy Swiss compatriot Atlantic Forwarding and Searunner Shipping based in Hong Kong
According to Swiss-based transport magazine ITJ, MSC has entered into a shopping spree towards freight forwarders.
The world's second largest liner shipping company in fact in November 2018 acquired a relevant stake into Atlantic Speditions, a forwarder domiciled in Schlieren (Switzerland). The Atlantic Forwarding Group employs 400 people in 28 offices in India and Asia, as well as operating 15 offices in Europe.
Also the Geneva (Switzerland)-based carrier belonging to Gianluigi Aponte is acquiring shares in Searunner Shipping based in Hong Kong. The company, founded in 1979 by Theo Ernst and until recently managed by son Oliver Ernst, provides sea, air, multimodal transport and project logistics.
