LNG: new alliance between Gas and Heat and Ecospray
Leghorn-based provider and Costa Crociere's subsidiary will be developing boil off gas waste and liquefaction systems
Gas and Heat sealed an alliance with Ecospray Technologies – engineering company, 60.1% controlled by Costa Crociere, specialized in air and gas purification systems' design for industrial applications since 2005 (encompassing ships scrubbers) – to conceive new systems for treating and recovering the so called boil off gas, amount of gas evaporated when part of the LNG, either stored in coastal depots or on board ships, return to aeriform status.
Boil off gas is a natural process, which brings a loss in product, reason for which interested operators are attempting to recover the substance.
Gas and Heat and Ecospray, – while attending the ‘Small Scale LNG use Euro-Mediterranean Conference & Expo’ in Naples – sealed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at jointly design and supply boil-off natural gas liquefaction plants in small coastal facilities and on board.
“We target – states Leghorn-based group – blending Ecospray Technologies' liquefaction process skills, actually supported by S.TRA.TE.G.I.E., to Gas and Heat experience and skills in the construction of shipping installations”.
